Lorene Lindsey
Lorene Lindsey is a 57 year resident of Henry County where she and her late husband, Jake, owned and operated a supermarket for 39 years. Lorene worked for the federal government for 36 years and, after retirement, she dedicated herself to volunteerism as a member of the Silver Haired Legislature for 15 years, the AARP Legislative Chair where she worked on the Vote Campaign for 4 years, a representative on the Advisory Committee on Aging at the Atlanta Regional Commission for almost 17 years and later as a public servant. Ms. Lindsey has the distinction of being the first woman elected Mayor of Locust Grove. She served 12 years as Mayor of her beloved City and brought new enterprise as well as new Senior Centers to the city. She is still very involved in the community, is an appointed member of the Georgia Council on Aging and serves on other boards all the while enjoying retirement in Henry County.
