Lucy Whelchel
Lucy recently retired from a long career in the public and private sectors. Most recently, she was owner of Market Driven, Inc. a marketing and resource development consulting practice serving the public agencies and private businesses. She has an M.A. and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from Georgia State University and a B.A. from LaGrange College. Lucy was a Governor’s Appointee to the Georgia Council on Aging serving 1992 to 1994. She previously owned a home care agency in Gainesville, GA which was sold in 1990. She later worked as the Director of Business Development for Southern Home Care and as Director of Development for Georgia Southern University. Later, as a consultant in the field of aging services, Lucy coordinated preliminary studies and the foundation work for development of a Life Care Retirement Community; provided market research to businesses; provided training to allied health professionals, and helped agencies develop and maintain community-based programs for older adults.
Lucy and her husband are enjoying retirement in Covington, Georgia, and have one son and two grandchildren.
