Paul Black
Paul’s experience as the son of two parents with big health challenges is what led him to the work he does today. His mother wrestled with early onset Parkinson’s Disease for 27 years before her death in July 2016. His father suffered a major stroke in May 2001 and lives in assisted living in Atlanta. Paul’s active involvement in his parents’ care gives him first-hand knowledge of the challenges that many caregivers and family members face.
After finishing law school in 2010 and completing a national elder law fellowship in 2011, Paul launched his own private practice. Today, Paul finds great satisfaction in serving clients across Georgia who need help with elder law issues (including Medicaid & Veterans benefits planning), estate planning (Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives), uncontested probate court matters (including estate administration and guardianship and conservatorship petitions), and Special Needs Trust planning.
Paul has been named as a SuperLawyers “Rising Star” in the area of Estate Planning and as a member of Georgia’s “Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend magazine. He is a native of Albany, Georgia and currently resides in Clarkston, Georgia.
