Valarie Wilson
Valarie serves as Executive Director of the BeltLine Partnership, a private, non-profit organization dedicated to fostering support for Atlanta’s BeltLine, the largest urban revitalization project in America. Her 20-year background in public service includes serving as Director of the Fulton County Human Services Department where she developed initiatives that secured millions of dollars for service delivery and spearheaded the creation of three non-profit agencies that deliver aging programs throughout Fulton County and previously served as director of the Office of Aging from 1991-96.
Ms. Wilson is a graduate of Clark College who holds a bachelor of arts in communications, and completed graduate studies at Troy State University in Public Administration. She is a member of the Oakhurst Presbyterian Church where she has served as an Elder, sang in the Sanctuary Gospel Mass Choir, and is a member of the Evangelism Committee. She was elected twice to City of Decatur’s Board of Education, participates on committees for the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) and is a member of the Decatur Education Foundation and Decatur Arts Alliance. Valarie lives with her husband, Carter, and their son, Nicholas, in the MAK neighborhood of Decatur.
